Search Engine Optimization(SEO) comes into existence since few years back & also some myths have been developed around this concept. Some of these are nothing but the outdated techniques & some are misunderstanding that occurs because web is such a new medium for a large number of people.

Guaranteed #1 Rank : Actually instead of saying this as a myth, it's better to call it as a complete lie. No-one can guarantee a first rank,if so then he's lying to you. All you can do is to have someone who can optimize your website pages, apply some online marketing plan for your website & hope for the desired results.



Rank Upliftment By Multiple Submission : The bottom line for submitting your website is, submit it once , if within a month it won't get indexed, then submit it again. Instead of submitting your website on each & every search engine, it's better to submit it on few major search engines that feeds the other search engines.



META Tag Is Everything To Rank A Page : It's just a tag of HTML that contains the keyword & description. They are good but unfortunately not the everything that a search engine searches to rank your website. It's not a good practice to cram all your keywords in each tag, the best option is to put one or two keywords per page. The truth is that most tags arre not very important & are not used by search engines at all.
