I have gone through the development of various websites. They are attractive, they have all the necessary affiliate links. Ready to make some money, right? Wrong. I have been buried in google search results with little hope of making any kind of income return.
Now I have created a web development tutorial website and am determined to really follow through on this one. I never truly appreciated the value of having quality one way links to the site. It seems to be the missing ingredient. My content is always full of key words, sculpted in a way that is perfectly human readable and doesn't look like a blatant marketing ploy....to no avail. Frustrating to say the least.
I've spent the last few days really scouring the internet to look for places where I can find some free links to my site. This too is frustrating. Too often I took the time to sign up only to be told after the whole process is finished that it could be weeks before the review is complete. If you have had similar experiences I would advise that patience is the key. No site is going to jump to the first page of google overnight. It all takes time.
So what to do in the meantime? Continue with the organic growth of your site, something else that the search engines seem to like. A site that is constantly changing and growing is viewed favorably by the search engines. So keep your content fresh and new and allow your site to expand. And weeks down the road, hopefully some of those back links will take effect and you can see your page rank begin to increase.

If your site is very new even the prchecker can be a bit frustrating and you have to play the waiting game. An important page of my site has been indexed by google, which I have checked by entering the full url in the google search box. But it hasn't been 'ranked' yet so pr checker is unable to get the information. More hand wringing. More patience required. I can only hope that all this patience will pay off in the long run. If you are in a similar situation try to relax and stay positive. SEO is a complex business.
