Within a research project aimed at providing a scientific analysis of positions during labor dystocia, we are looking for an assistant doctor (any year) willing to complete a MD-PhD. Working rate would be 60 to 80% during the first year and negociable thereafter.
The effective date will be on 01.03.2019 .
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of five university hospitals in Switzerland. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine at the University of Lausanne and the EPFL (Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne), the CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, research and training.
The obstetrical unit of the Women-mother-child department supports over three thousand births per year happening in both pathological and physiological contexts.
In this very dynamic environment, in which many new research projects are emerging, the CHUV is creating a research project aimed at providing a scientific analysis of positions during labor dystocia, in collaboration with the Swiss BioMotion laboratory also hosted within the CHUV and the Signal Processing Laboratory, hosted at EPFL.
In collaboration with a chief doctor leading the research area, the successful candidate will coordinate all aspects of the research.
He-she will ensure close collaboration with the Swiss BioMotion lab, responsible for analyzing parturient’s movements and the Signal Processing Laboratory 5 which will be responsible for analyzing fetus progression.
The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing and writing up all the results and writing articles and scientific papers for submission for publication, and be a significant contributor to the further development of the research project.
We are looking for candidates either:
with a scientific background who are currently graduating in medicine or
medical students interested in completing an MD-PhD
who wish to specialize in gynecology and obstetrics
interested in biomedical technologies; or
have a masters degree in bioengineering or in a related technologic science.
Excellent English language skills are a required
Basic knowledge of computer programming and programming languages would be an advantage.
